    Getting a consistent good night’s sleep is paramount to healthy functioning and wellness throughout the day. Eight hours or more should suffice, but if you find yourself struggling to get some quality shut-eye you’ll want to take note of these five tips.

    Don’t Use Tech at All

    The last thing you should do is get overstimulated by browsing through social media feeds and online articles. Prepare your body to get rest by refraining from technology and displays, including smart TVs, smart displays, and mobile phones.

    Eliminate Distractions and Noise

    Aside from electronic distractions, your bedroom should be free of unnecessary noise. Consider putting up thick curtains to mask outside traffic, and insulation to get rid of pesky neighbors. As a side note, play online poker an hour or two before sleeping and in the living room or your study room.

    Cool and Comfortable

    You can get better rest in a space that’s cool and comfortable. Turn on the AC if the room is too hot, and make sure you have enough pillows and a blanket for your body and head. The mattress and frame should support your weight evenly so you won’t wake up with aches and pains.

    Wake Up Gradually

    Instead of using a loud alarm, consider setting up an alarm that lets you wake up gradually. Smart displays and modern tech have this, where light eventually comes into a room followed by gentle sounds. You can also set a smart light to gradually brighten within 5-10 minutes.

    Wear a Sleep Tracker

    Lastly, track your sleep quality and see how you’re improving day to day with a smartwatch. With quantitative data, you’ll be able to see your sleep at a glance and view recommendations for better rest. Most modern smartwatches will have this feature built-in.
