The new movie starring Brad Pitt (‘Once upon a time in … Hollywood’),‘Bullet Train’ has completed its cast with the addition of Emmy-nominated actress Zazie Beetz (‘Joker’). This action thriller from Sony Pictures marks a new collaboration between the actress and ‘Deadpool 2’ director David Leitch.
Beetz will also coincide with another of the confirmed actors, Brian Tyree Henry after the series ‘Atlanta’. Rounding out the cast are Aaron Taylor-Johnson (‘Kick-Ass’), Andrew Koji (‘Warrior’) and Joey King (‘The Lie’).
The film will be based on a novel by Japanese author Isaka Kotaro titled ‘Maria Beetle’. The story is set inside a train on the Shinkasen line; specifically, the one that goes from Tokyo to Morioka. There are five assassins, each with a different purpose. The problem is that these five murderers do not know that there are two more murderers on the train who will end up complicating things. What could go wrong?
Leitch supervising a script to be written by Zak Olkewicz (‘Fear Street’). Leitch and Kelly McCormick will produce the project through their 87North Productions label, along with Antoine Fuqua and Kat Samick. For her part, Brittany Morrissey will be the executive overseeing the film for Sony Pictures.
It will be the eighth collaboration between the 50-year-old filmmaker and 56-year-old Pitt, who first worked together in 1999 on the movie “Fight Club.” The last in 2018 with ‘Deadpool 2’, a film in which Leitch was the director and Pitt made a cameo as Vanisher.
