On February 21, the 35th anniversary of The Legend of Zelda. Although Nintendo has not yet revealed its plans to celebrate this series, similar to what was done with Mario in 2020, all the fans decided to take to Twitter and share a couple of anecdotes with the franchise. One of these people was Phil Spencer, head of Xbox.

In this way, Inverse interviewed some developers and industry executives to find out their opinion about The Legend of Zelda, and the impact that the franchise has had on their lives. It was here where Phil Spencer spoke about the importance of this series, not only for him, but for the entire industry. This was what he commented:

“Games have a rich history that transport us to new worlds and new adventures, these journeys are folded into our own lived experiences and become part of us. The Legend of Zelda is an iconic franchise that has BRING JOY TO MANY PEOPLE over the past 35 years and is still going strong. “

For its part, Nintendo will deliver the Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD to us next July, along with a pair of Joy-Con with designs inspired by the Master Sword and the Shield of Hyrule. However, rumors point to a release of Twilight Princess and The Wind Waker HD for the Switch in 2021. Similarly, there is still the possibility of seeing Breath of the Wild 2 and a commemorative console in the coming months.
