All Elite Wrestling announced today that they have signed Will Hobbs. Hobbs has appeared on AEW Dark in recent months and was at the Battle Royale Casino during the All Out pay-per-view.

Will Hobbs signs with All Elite Wrestling

Hobbs made headlines after his debut on AEW Dynamite a few weeks ago. He lost a match to Darby Allin during that debut, but it was evident that AEW was positioning Hobbs to be much more than just an enhancement talent, as Dave Meltzer said on Wrestling Observer Radio at the time.

“It was three minutes and it looked like a squash fight in practice, but they gave Will Hobbs more than he would give in a normal squash. Someone wanted him to look good before he lost. I mean, it was still a short fight, and the commentators are putting him above, above his power. On paper, this is a squash fight: three minutes sounds like a squash fight, but the commentators and the way the match was organized was anything but a squash fight.

He looks impressive and has the potential to become a huge star in the industry, so it’s no wonder he signed.

We’ll have to see what AEW has for Will Hobbs. He’s a bought guy who can do a lot in the ring. Stay tuned.
