WhatsApp won’t let you send messages if you don’t accept its terms before May 15

An internal corporate email is leaked. There it is revealed that WhatsApp will deactivate functions for those who do not accept its terms and conditions.

WhatsApp suffered perhaps what would be the biggest crisis in its history when it began to notify everyone about changes to its terms and conditions of use.

The uncertainty about respecting the privacy of all users was not small and this mixed with a series of bad executive decisions led to the exile of thousands of users who chose to migrate to platforms such as Signal or Telegram.

Well, the nightmare for those who stayed seems not to end yet and a problem is looming. Since WhatsApp would block basic functions of the app if they do not accept the changes.

An awkward leak

TechCrunch friends have had access to a corporate WhatsApp email message addressed to business partners.

There it is revealed that the platform will begin again to gradually notify about changes in the terms and conditions of the app.

The detail now is that it is revealed what will happen to those who continue to ignore the request after the May 15, 2021:

For a short time, these users will be able to receive calls and notifications, but they will not be able to read or send messages from the application.

That short period of time of limited functions would be made up of just a few weeks. Before moving on to the next stage where the only alternative would be to accept the new terms.

Even the platform modified its support FAQ section, adding a new topic with all the details that end up confirming everything officially.
