what are they and how can you create them in your profile

Instagram launched its Guides a few months ago. It is a section that was born to create compilations of themes aimed mainly at the
Health & Wellness, so they were restricted to certain selected profiles. From Instagram they assure that the reception of their Guides was good, so they announce the global expansion to all profiles, so that from now on we can create our own guides, on any subject we want.

We will explain to you how can you create your own guides, since with the new design of Instagram this new function has arrived, both on iOS and Android. For this method to work you have to have the application updated. With that said, let’s see how it’s done.

How to create guides on Instagram

Instagram guides are now available for everyone- They are accessed from our profile, hitting the ‘+’ button. After clicking on this button, you will see the Guide option, so you just have to click on it. A menu will open to choose the type of guide.

Places: Recommend places in your city and more
Products: Recommend your favorite products
Posts: Recommend posts you’ve created or saved

As you can see, the guides do not start from scratch, but it is necessary that you have already created content about them. For example, if you want to recommend products, you will have to search for the products within an Instagram profile, and if we want to recommend publications, we will have to have created them previously, or have saved any.

Once the content has been chosen, we can add a description to the guide, in addition to giving it a mandatory title. The content that we create will go to the new guides section in our own profile, where people who visit us will be able to see all our recommendations.

This content can be shared via direct message, synchronized with our products in case we have a store, as well as shared through Instagram stories. Although in principle it was focused on specific profiles, by making them global for all users, now the creative possibilities are much greater.
