Riho She is remembered by All Elite Wrestling fans for having become the company’s first female champion in its history. He held the strap for 133 days until he lost it to Nyla Rose on February 12, 2020. A month later, at Dynamite, he made his last appearance participating in a four-way match, and since then we have not seen her again in AEW.
Since then, the Japanese fighter has been fighting on a regular basis in STARDOM until December 26. Dave Meltzer, a journalist for the Wrestling Observer, has updated Riho’s status in his latest newsletter, stating that the wrestler is doing well and that hopes to travel to the United States to work at All Elite Wrestling.
“The company is working right now to bring Riho back. People have been asking about her since Stardom stopped using her a few weeks ago,” Meltzer stated in the Wrestling Observer newsletter. “He could be back in February. Most likely he will move from Japan to the United States. If he left Japan, it would be a two-week quarantine period before he could return to society. It makes sense that his return is for the women’s tournament“.
The tournament that Melzter mentions is the one that was announced last Wednesday to determine a contender for the AEW Women’s World Championship. 16 wrestlers will meet in various heats to get a title match against Hikaru Shida on a date to be determined.
