Palmeiras ended their training week last Friday. As has been happening for three weeks, players are carrying out activities directly from their homes with the supervision of the coaching staff, all online. For young Gabriel Veron, this is a way of trying to keep the pace of the beginning of the year, which, according to him, was positive.

– I’m passing by to say how important these online training are for us. It is being very important for the group, because we are always together, even though we are online, we keep working to not miss this great start to the year that we had, but that unfortunately we had to stop because of this pandemic. We are very focused, training at home, we hope to return soon and even stronger – reported the forward.

The beginning of the year for Palmeiras was really positive. Until the stoppage of competitions due to the coronavirus, alviverde had played 12 games, ten from the Paulista Championship and two from the Copa Libertadores. In the continental tournament, 100% success rate, with two victories over Tigre-ARG and Guaraní-PAR, by 2 to 0 and 3 to 1, respectively.

In the state, there were five victories (Ituano, Oeste, Ponte Preta, Mirassol and Guarani), four draws (São Paulo, Santos, Ferroviária and Inter de Limeira) and only one defeat (RB Bragantino). With the results achieved, Palmeiras occupied the first place of group B of the Libertadores, with six points, and the vice-leader of group B, behind Santo André, who has the best overall score (19 points), the same as the alviverde.

Palmeiras still does not train at CT due to the state’s health recommendations. Since the last game, on March 14, until now, there has been a vacation period and resumption of training, which is happening three times a week, online.
