The last training sessions of the Hungarian Grand Prix concluded and the fastest was the Finnish driver Valtteri Bottas, who with a time of 1: 15.437 has overcome by only 42 thousandths his Mercedes teammate, Lewis Hamilton.
Although the session started with a light rain, finally the track was not wet and the 20 drivers were able to turn on the slick tires without any problem. All of them managed to rotate significantly with the soft compound, identified with the color red.
After the Mercedes was the Mexican driver Sergio Pérez from Racing Point, proving that the RP20 is a fairly fast car, being just 0.161s from the reference time of Valtteri Bottas. This is a good sign for the qualifying session. Added to this is the fifth time of his partner, Lance Stroll.
Monegasque Charles Leclerc finished in fourth place, generating a light of hope for the Ferrari team by finishing 0.344s away from the fastest time. Sebastian Vettel was eighth 0.6s behind his teammate.
Dutchman Max Verstappen was sixth more than half a second from the reference time and did not have a good time in the session. He complained about understeer and had a spin. In the end it was sixth. Meanwhile, his teammate, Thai Alexander Albon, continues to have problems and was more than half a second from Verstappen.
McLaren drivers Lando Norris and Carlos Sainz finished in seventh and eleventh place. Alpha Gas’s Pierre Gasly and Daniel Ricciardo were responsible for closing the top 10.
Good job from British driver George Russell, finishing in the fourteenth time. His teammate at Williams, Canadian Nicholas Latifi was last with a difference of 0.8s.
At 15:00 in Budapest the classification of the Hungarian Grand Prix will begin with LIVE broadcast of F1Latam.com.
