Two other minors are murdered in Mexico City

MEXICO CITY (AP) – The wave of murders of minors in Mexico City continued on Sunday with the murder with a knife of two children, aged seven and 13, in a house in a neighborhood near the airport of the capital, reported the capital prosecutor’s office.

Ulises Lara, a spokesman for the prosecution, said authorities arrived at the home of the most recent of those cases on Sunday morning. In the place, in addition to the two bodies, there were two other wounded, also by a knife, a child under 10 years old and a woman who were taken to hospital.

The alleged assailant, a 14-year-old teenager, also had injuries and was at the disposal of the authorities.

Lara did not offer details about the motive for the crime, but the local press indicated that the minor injured was a girl and that the crime was due to a fight during a party.

The head of government, Claudia Sheinbaum, who held a meeting with the families of the dismembered minors, later made a public apology in case adolescents had ever been criminalized.
