The promoter of the Formula 1 Turkish GP has stated that they hope to have 100,000 spectators on November 15 with the return of the premier class to Istanbul Park and that, based on tickets at three euros, they have already sold 40,000 in the first six hours.

Istanbul Park, which has not been on the calendar since 2011, has a capacity for 220,000 fans and Vural Ak, president of the Intercity company – which organizes the F1 Turkish GP this year – has announced that they are negotiating the permission to sell 100,000 seats of facing the weekend of November 13 to 15, on the occasion of the 14th round of the 2020 Formula 1 season, of the 17 that will be in the renewed post-quarantine calendar.

The price of tickets is 3.29 euros per day, which absolutely breaks any record. An average F1 ticket in the cheapest area of ​​any circuit is around 80-90 euros per day.

Intercity has revealed that in the first hour of ticket sales 10,000 people have already bought their tickets and in the first quarter of the day, they have already sold more than 40,000 tickets.

“We could sell the 220,000 tickets, but that will not be possible due to covid-19. That is why we hope to have more or less 100,000 people. We are prepared for anything, if the disease worsens then maybe the race will be held without spectators. We will always comply with the rules of social distancing “, Ak acknowledged at a press conference according to Motorsport Turkey.
