The derailment of a freight train on a bridge in the state of Arizona, in the United States, sparked an impressive fire on Wednesday, although it was not immediately reported that it had caused fatalities or injuries

Local media released images of the cars stuck on the metal structure that crosses Lake Tempe Tow, near the city of Phoenix (capital of Arizona), from which thick columns of smoke were emitted.

Several of the carriages managed to break the bridge and fall onto minor tracks that pass underneath, without the flames spreading.

The fire did spread rapidly almost to the middle of the bridge, although it did not cover the entire length of the extensive railway.

One person was treated for smoke inhalation, but none of the convoy’s crew was injured, according to information released by the Union Pacific company.

The Tempe Police reported in his official account of the social network Twitter of a « great fire on Lake Tempe Town « , which forced the mobilization of personnel from that department, as well as that of the Fire Department.
