Harvard University professor of philosophy Jack Griffin (Glen Howerton) loses his dream job and is forced to return to Toledo, Ohio, as a high school professor of advanced biology. When he arrives at Whitlock High School, Jack makes it clear that he has no intention of teaching his subject and using his brilliant students to his own advantage. Meanwhile, eager to prove he’s still in command, Director Durbin (Patton Oswalt) struggles to control him.

In the third season Jack continues in his line: Just as edgy and cheeky, willing to bring out the worst in his advanced biology students for his own benefit. On the horizon, a clear goal: revenge on his arch nemesis at Stanford, Miles Leonard (Tom Bennett). For his part, Principal Durbin does not get rid of his usual clumsiness or on the basis of good intentions, the teachers grab on to any possible distraction to flee from work and the students at Whitlock High try to survive their own adolescence.

Along with Glen Howerton and Patton Oswalt complete the cast Paula Pell as the enthusiastic gymnastics teacher Helen Henry DeMarcus, the seemingly inseparable group of teachers formed by Jean Villepique, Mary Sohn and Lyric Lewis, or the young Aparna Brielle, Allisyn Snyder or Nick Peine as three of Griffin’s most outstanding students: Sarika, Heather, and Marcus.
