The phenomenal Total War: Warhammer 2 may have gone on sale on Steam in September 2017, but its fans have shown such interest in its replayability and multiples.updates and DLCthat the title has remained among the most popular on the platform since then, to the point of beating itsactivity recordmore than two years later, and in very unusual circumstances.

On May 21, SteamDB recorded nothing84,920 usersSimultaneously playing Creative Assembly RTS, a more than respectable margin against the previous record of 72,320 players that were around the original release date. At the time of writing these lines, the title touches the 65,000 connected players, leaving thetop 10of Steam’s most active games for very few seats.

The curious thing is that this feat has not been achieved on any particularly special day. It wasn’t a free weekend or the launch of a huge expansion, although I do know that there were quite a fewincentivespreviews that surely have fueled the interest of fans starting with thefree update ‘Total WAAAAGH’focused on redesigning greenskins; and The Warden and the Paunch DLC.

In the analysis of Total War: Warhammer 2, our comrade Alvaro Castellano believed that the game “is strong in the key points of the original and, in addition, offers four factions of the most atypical, and an extraordinary campaign that manages to surprise us.” On Steam, it enjoys a “very positive” average rating (92%) of more than 43,000 user reviews, which increases to “extremely positive” (95%) with the arrival of the latest patches.
