The Vendée team concluded their 2021 recruitment with two good catches, Christopher Lawless and Edvald Boasson Hagen.
Total-Direct Energie expects to bounce back next season after an overall disappointing 2020, with only three victories, including a stage success in Paris-Nice for Niccolo Bonifazio.
After having offered three climbers from AG2R-La Mondiale (Latour, Geniez and Vuillermoz), in particular, the Vendée team has completed its recruitment with two beautiful picks. The first signing is British sprinter Chris Lawless (25), who comes from Ineos, with whom he notably won the Tour of Yorkshire in 2019.
Boasson Hagen wants victories
The second is veteran Edvald Boasson Hagen (33, NTT), who has three stage victories in the Tour de France, one in the Giro, five in the Critérium du Dauphiné and the Classique Gent-Wevelgem to his name.
“My goal is to win as much as possible, to race and get the best results,” explains the Norwegian on his new team’s website. I am a versatile runner! So I hope to run the Spring Classics and have the chance to win stages in the Tour de France. I also want to help my teammates to achieve good results for Total Direct Energie. […] I can’t wait to join the team and meet them all at the training camps. Hope we have a normal season this year! “
🚨 MERCATO ALERT🚨
But what a final! Total Direct Energie concludes its transfer window with style! 🔥🔥
