This Friday evening, as part of the 11th day of Top 14, Montpellier opened its counter outside, by winning on the lawn of Clermont (15-21).
It was not until the eleventh day of the Top 14 to see Montpellier finally open its away wins counter. Indeed, this Friday evening, at the opening of this new day, the Hérault training went to win on the lawn of Clermont (15-21), which bowed for the first time at home. However, this meeting will certainly not remain in the annals, compared to the spectacle produced on the lawn, on both sides.
No try has been scored and neither team will walk away with one of the now traditional bonuses. However, the final score is therefore well and truly in favor of Montpellier, who really needed this success. At the break, the score was only 15-6, already in favor of the visitors. Only the scorers of each formation were therefore honored, after the many faults committed on both sides.
Return of Picamoles
On the side of the premises, only two small penalties were registered, through Camille Lopez (14th), then thanks to George Moala (26th). Opposite, they were necessarily more numerous (five) and they were even thus all registered thanks to a single man, namely the very young Louis Bourdette (3rd, 20th, 28th, 34th, 40th). In the second act, rebelote, but this time, it was the locals who got more penalties, three against two.
On the one hand, it was Camille Lopez who stuck to it (50th, 59th, 67th), while on the other, it was again Louis Bourdette (47th, 57th), who therefore indeed registered all 21 points of his training. When there were no faults, both teams had many blunders. The Jaunards have struggled to stand out against the Hérault, dominators in many areas of play and especially in defense. Note also the small event of the second half, with the entry into play of Louis Picamoles, back after a very long injury.
