Tigres beat the Xolos 3-2 and takes them away undefeated

Tigres returned to winning ways by beating Tijuana 3-1, which lost undefeated after seven days of the 2021 Guardians tournament. The felines reached 10 points to climb to eighth place, while the Xolos have twelve units in the third rung.

Luis Quiñones put the Monterrey ahead with a goal from the dressing room after two minutes, after filtering down the left side and launching a cross shot.

Almost immediately the controversy arrived, when Junior Sornoza committed a strong tackle on Quiñones, to the point of causing a knee injury, but the whistling Fernando Hernández only showed a yellow card.

Without complications, the university students increased the advantage after Quiñones reached the area and gave the ball so that Nicolás Diente López sentenced at 15 minutes.

The third goal also came from Diente López (52), who pushed the ball close to the left post, after receiving a pass from André-Pierre Gignac.

However, Xolos revived in the final stretch by discounting with a shot by Édgar López at minute 89 and a shot by David Barbona at 90 + 2.

Puebla 1-1 Roosters

The Puebla squad rescued in the last minutes a 1-1 draw with Querétaro, at the Corregidora stadium. Los Gallos reached 10 points, one more than the Poblanos, to place themselves in the middle table.

In a duel with few emotions, the Queretanos opened the scoring in the 84th minute with a long-range shot from Joe Gallardo. When it seemed that the Gallos would take the victory, Daniel Cervantes committed a foul inside the area and the whistling Eduardo Galván scored a penalty. Daniel Álvarez (90 + 2) took the penalty with a shot that embedded in the left corner.
