Thanks to eOne we have had access to the first preview of ‘Clifford the Big Red Dog‘, adaptation in real image of the character created by Norman Bridwell in 1963 whose premiere is scheduled to arrive at the end of 2021. In the video, just 20 seconds long, we see what the main character is like: A dog whose appearance has generated a flood of criticisms that possibly end up causing it to be modified, as happened with ‘Sonic. The movie ‘in 2019.
The film will show Emily (Darby Camp) struggling to fit in both at home and at school and discovering a little red puppy who is destined to become her best friend. After Clifford becomes a huge dog in no time and attracts the attention of a genetic company, Emily and her uncle Casey (Jack Whitehall) will have to try to combat the greed of the company. Along the way, Clifford teaches Emily and her uncle the true meaning of acceptance and unconditional love.
Jay Scherick, David Ronn, Annie Mumolo and Stan Chervin have written this story directed by Walt Becker, responsible for films like ‘Wild pigs (With a pair … of wheels)’ or ‘Two very mature kangaroos’. The film was shot in New York under the production of Scholastic Entertainment’s Jordan Kerner and Deborah Forte.
The series of works on Clifford has featured over 75 different books that have come over 126 million copies worldwide. The series also had a television show that told the story of a huge red puppy named Clifford and his owner Emily Elizabeth. In 2004, the character had a first animated film entitled ‘Clifford’s Really Big Movie’.
