The BYD Tang EV600 is a new electric SUV with 520 km of autonomy and that is already available in Latin America to face Tesla
Following the announcement of BYDAbout the next arrival of the new BYD Tang EV600 to Europe, the Chinese manufacturer now adds another goal by landing in Latin America on SUV that promises to be him fastest on the market.
The electric SUV measures 4.87 meters in length and offers up to 520 kilometers of autonomy. It should be noted that this is the second generation of the BYD Tang and is offered in two different versions depending on its engine: a front-wheel drive version with a 245 hp engine and 330 Nm of torque; and another with two electric motors -one on each axle-, with a maximum power of 490 hp and permanent all-wheel drive. In both cases, it is equipped with an 82.8 kWh battery, which allows it to homologate up to 520 kilometers of autonomy (NEDC) in the front-wheel drive version and 500 km in the 4 × 4 version.
BYD includes a fast charge for this model it achieves 30 to 80% in just 30 minutes, although it does not specify the maximum charging power.
What is most striking about this electric SUV are its dynamic performanceAs BYD advertises 0-100 km / h in just 4.4 seconds for the most powerful version, and a more modest 8.5 seconds for the single-engine, front-wheel drive EV600.
Without a doubt the BYD Tang EV600 is a large vehicle, and for comparison, this SUV is the same length as a Volkswagen touaregÂ and is 135 mm longer than a SEAT Tarraco.Â Its generous size allows the Chinese manufacturer to offer it with two seat configurations: with five or seven seats (2 + 3 + 2).
The price of the BYD Tang EV600 for Latin America has not yet been released, however, in China, its country of origin, it ranges between $ 868.57 and $ 1,202.84 Mexican pesos.
