This is how the Harry Potter reunion organized by Tom Felton was lived

Over the weekend, actor Tom Felton achieved the dream of many Potterheads around the world: a reunion of the Harry Potter cast. The reason, of course, was the 19th anniversary since the first movie in the series was released in theaters, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. Taking as a reference other great reunions that have occurred online this year, the British actor managed to bring almost everyone back and this meant fans of the saga going crazy on social networks.

Nineteen years after ‘The Boy Who Lived’ arrived at the front door of his surly uncles in the Privet Drive neighborhood, the excitement for the world of magic continues with the flames lit. Tom Felton, who played Draco Malfoy throughout the saga, already imagined it and for that reason he thought it would be a nice touch to meet his co-stars again just on such a special date.

The meeting was attended by Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, James and Oliver Phelps, Evanna Lynch, Alfred Enoch, Bonnie Wright, Mark Williams and Jason Isaacs himself, who was Felton’s father in film history. Draco and Lucius represented the reunion of the Malfoy family, as well as Arthur Weasley and his sons Ron, Ginny, Fred and George.

Another important element in the virtual meeting was the director Chris Columbus, who is responsible for the beginning of the entire saga. His work behind The Philosopher’s Stone and The Chamber of Secrets translates into the small stones that started a media avalanche that turned the film saga into a worldwide phenomenon.

Each of the participants explained separately what Harry Potter means to them, 19 years later. But then the reunion quickly turned into an accumulation of emotions and nostalgia, when all the cast members recalled anecdotes that they lived throughout all the years of filming that it took to make the films.

Rupert Grint, for example, spoke about his inability to stop laughing at the time of filming the most serious sequences for history. Later, the most beloved of the Weasleys, he talked about his daughter with fellow actress Georgia Groome. Radcliffe, for his part, referred to the following year as one of the most magical for all those who love Harry Potter. While 19 years since the first film was released, that’s saying a lot, a 20th anniversary will probably mean quite a party.

“My first thought is that this is nothing more than a preview of the nostalgia in which we will be immersed next year when it will be 20 years since the first film was released,” said the actor. Did Radcliffe just tell us something?

Despite how exciting it was to see much of the cast reunited again, many fans did not let it pass that actress Emma Watson shone by her absence. However, Tom Felton made up for it when he took out his guitar and began singing some of his own musical productions.

All this meeting had the purpose, in addition to celebrating the anniversary of the film, to support The Liv Project, a foundation whose mission is to reduce the high rates of suicide, by helping all kinds of people who fight against depression.

Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone premiered on November 16, 2001 in several countries including the United States and the United Kingdom. In Mexico, it hit theaters a week later, to be exact, on November 13. So maybe one or two more potterhead anniversary parties can still be organized in this territory.

A few days ago Harry Potter was also a topic of conversation on social networks because all the films in the saga were removed from streaming platforms to be collected all in the same place. Now you can see the entire saga on HBO GO and on the programming of that paid channel.
