HBO has released a third and final trailer for ‘Lovecraft Territory’, the television adaptation of the self-titled novel by Matt Ruff, which is supported as executive producers by JJ Abrams (‘Castle Rock’), Jordan Peele (‘Hunters’) or Daniel Sackheim (‘The Americans’), who has also charged with directing at least two of its eight episodes.

Misha Green (‘Underground’) is the creator and showrunner of this production by afemme, Inc., Bad Robot Productions, Monkeypaw Productions and Warner Bros. Television whose official synopsis is as follows:

Chicago, 1954. Following the trail of his mysteriously missing father, the 22-year-old Atticus Freeman embarks on a road trip to the magical and dangerous New England, accompanied by his uncle George and Letitia, a childhood friend. . On their journey to Mr. Braithwhite’s mansion they face both the mundane terrors of the white America of the time, as well as the evil spirits out of the H.P. Lovecraft and pulp novels that Atticus devours …

Jonathan Majors, Jurnee Smollett-Bell, Courtney B. Vance and Michael Kenneth Williams lead the cast of this in principle miniseries whose first episode, directed by Yann Demange (’71), will be released in the early hours of Sunday, August 16 through Monday, August 17.
