September 19 will be a night of ex-UFC fighters facing off with a clean fist without the usual 4oz gloves.

The former UFC welterweight title contender, Thiago Alves, will make his promotional debut in the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) against the iconic former UFC fighter, Phil Baroni, on the billboard BKFC 13. Also, Hector Lombard and Kendall grove, two MMA veterans who have competed in major promoters like the UFC and Bellator, will face each other at the same event.

Alves, he left the UFC after having a 2-6 in his last 8 fights and ending with two losses in a row. Signed with BKFC earlier in the year and his opponent had not yet been revealed until now. The 36-year-old Brazilian’s last victory came in February of last year, when he beat Max Griffin by divided decision.

Baroni For his part, he has experience in BKFC, as he debuted at the end of 2018 claiming a loss by TKO against Chris Leben in the World Bare Knuckle Fighting Federation. Baroni’s last victory was in May 2018, when he defeated by technical knockout Matt Lagler in MMA rules.

In the case of the former middleweight champion of Bellator, Lombard will seek his second victory in a row within the BKFC, as he managed to prevail by unanimous decision last February on David Mundell. The 42-year-old left his MMA career after going through a streak of six consecutive losses. The last victory for the Cuban occurred in March 2014, when he surpassed Jake Shields by unanimous decision.

Grove, the most experienced in BKFC of the 4, he is 1-1 under boxing rules, with a knockout loss to Marcel Stamps in October 2018 and a unanimous decision victory against Bruce Abramski, in August of the same year. The champion of Ultimate Fighter 3, left MMA for boxing after a submission victory in his last outing against Anthony Ruiz in August 2019, completing a 1-3 mark in his last 4 fights.

The billboard does not yet have a place to take place and it must comply with the protocols established against the Covid-19 pandemic.
