Raúl Chabrand, strategist for the Mexican U-20 team, said that they cannot depend on the five players of dual nationality called up in this concentration, pointing out that all the members of the squad must stand out for their qualities.

These players obviously must show important things to be a reference, but beyond that, the 23 on the list will have to make a difference, we cannot be hopeful in some elements, he said in a videoconference.

Chabrand closed a rally on Sunday attended by dual-national footballers Luca Martínez, who made his debut in Argentina’s first division with the Rosario Central club, and Benjamín Galdames, son of former Cruz Azul member Pablo Galdames and who has not yet decided between the Mexican and Chilean teams.

Also in attendance were Alejandro Viniegra, of Brazilian parents and one of the basic forces of Cruzeiro, as well as Teun Wilke, of Dutch descent, and the Mexican-American Efraín Álvarez.

Due to the qualities of the team, Chabrand assured that there is a lot of optimism for this generation of players, in addition to that they will seek to encourage the players of the Liga Mx to go abroad and show that they are prepared.

Before the loss of Santiago Giménez (Cruz Azul), who was called up for the Pre-Olympic team, Chabrand claimed to have elements to supply it. It is positive that he is in the Sub-23; if coach Jaime Lozano needs it, we will all pull to the same side.

Although there is still no date for the Concacaf tie for the 2021 World Cup in Indonesia, the coach said he is ready to play the event. In the face-to-face concentrations we were not infected (with coronavirus) and the virtual microcycles were a watershed, they served to observe players that we had on the radar and it was difficult to see them.
