Despite the fact that we are living in a tough period in economic terms due to the wide impact of the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19), the consoles debuted a few days ago and the most interesting thing is that they were excellently received in the market to such a degree that it has there have been shortages in several regions. Microsoft’s new consoles, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, are going through a period of stockouts and Microsoft confirmed that it will continue until almost the middle of 2021.
Microsoft recently confirmed that it had the best console launch in its history, something that certainly should be celebrated, but sadly there were insufficient units ready and demand is not being met.
The head of the Xbox brand, Phil Spencer, today apologized for the problems related to this shortage and although he claimed that he would comply with the demand, days ago the manager confirmed that the shortage would extend several months. It had not been shared how long this period would last beyond a few months, but recently Microsoft’s CFO announced that the situation will last at least 6 months.

Microsoft expects to begin meeting demand for Xbox Series X | S through 2021
During the Jefferies Interactive Entertainment Conference, transcribed by Seeking Alpha (via GameSpot), manager Tim Stuart reported that the shortage period that the Xbox Seris X | S is suffering in several countries will continue until at least April 2021, which means that the console will miss the end of the year sales season.
“I think we will continue to see supply shortages as we move into the post-holiday quarter, Microsoft’s quarter 3, or calendar quarter 1. And then we’ll get to Q4, with our entire supply chain racing into the months leading up to summer, ”Stuart said.
Thus, the shortage will last almost 6 months from the premiere of the Xbox Series X | S, but the manager mentioned that he expects the supply to match the demand in several countries. The console became available worldwide on November 12 and quickly sold out. Mexico was no exception and, while Xbox Series S units still abound, Xbox Series X consoles are hardly available in stores, such as Amazon.
“And it will be until then when the supply profile begins to meet the demand profile. You’ll be out for a holiday season. We will increase the offer during the next 4, 5 and 6 months. And that’s when we really hope to see that the demand profile begins to be met, which will be really great, “commented the manager.
