This quarantine has brought us a lot of surprises, some bad but also many good. Fortunately, in these days of confinement, many bands and artists, in addition to giving concerts in streaming from their homes, have become handsome, performing songs almost almost just out of the oven to keep us sane in these days where music serves to distract us, and The Rolling Stones they are not far behind.

As you will remember, Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts and Ronnie Wood They have been somewhat active this year. During the One World: Together At Home concert they played a quarantined version of “You Can’t Always Get What You Want”, which was undoubtedly the best of that show. However, specifically speaking of new music, the legends have also surprised and for good.

The Stones returned with new music

Since 2006 with A Bigger Bang, The Rolling Stones has not released an album with completely original songs. Yes, in 2012 they released a single called “Doom and Gloom” and a year later the album was released Blue & Lonesome, but it only included covers of some of the blues artists who inspired them, like Buddy Johnson, Howlin ‘Wolf, Memphis slim and more.

Fortunately the drought ended in mid-April 2020, when they surprised the world with “Living In A Ghost Town”, a song that they were working on before the pandemic and that ended from their homes, which could undoubtedly be the soundtrack of this quarantine. And now, the band releases a new song called “Criss Cross”, than maybe it will sound familiar to many fans.

What is “Criss Cross” about?

Through their social networks, with hype and cymbal, the band said they would premiere this song, however, it seems that this song was not composed during the pandemic. It turns out that on the album the Stones released in 1973, Goats Head Soup, many songs were left off the official list that came out on the album, which includes songs like “Angie”, Silver Train and “Coming Down Again ”

One of them is “Criss Cross”, who for years appeared in box sets and special editions of the album as “Criss Cross Man”. But now and taking advantage of the quarantine, they have decided to release it for all of us. This is a song that completely sounds like that time of the band, with Keith Richards playing powerful riffs while Jagger uses his voice to beg almost almost a woman to save him.
