“The opportunities of Asturias in Europe” is the title of the fourth installment of “Dialogues for Reconstruction”, the series of telematic meetings aimed at accompanying and illuminating readers in the de-escalation, organized by LA NUEVA ESPAÑA, with the sponsorship of the Banco Sabadell-Herrero and the collaboration of Bayer, the Asturian Federation of Entrepreneurs (FADE) and the Chambers of Commerce of Asturias.

The two Asturians currently practicing as MEPs, Jonás Fernández (PSOE) and Susana Solís (Citizens), and Diego Canga, the official from the region who has reached a higher position, will participate in this debate today at twelve hours within the EU and that he was chief of staff of Antonio Tajani when the Italian held the presidency of the European Parliament, between January 2017 and July 2019.

The meeting will be broadcast live on the internet and will be moderated by the NEW SPAIN journalist Elena Vélez. It will be broadcast in webinar format and to be able to follow it, you must have previously registered, free of charge, through this link: 5https: //my.demio.com/ref/iewhWWRi2JAk5DMj.

The telematic debate occurs at a crucial moment. The European Commission yesterday unveiled the details of its proposal to boost the European economy in the face of the deep recession that the pandemic crisis will cause. A key mechanism before which the two Asturian MEPs and the former chief of staff of the President of the European Parliament will be able to shed much light on the expectations that Asturias may have.

Spain and Italy, the countries of the European Union (EU) hardest hit humanly and economically by the covid-19 pandemic, will be the main beneficiaries of the ambitious reconstruction plan of 750,000 million euros, announced by the European Commission. The EU economic recovery plan for the coming years will be based on the issuance of European bonds for financing and channeled to governments through a hybrid of direct transfers and repayable loans.
