Although at the moment it has not been officially confirmed, it is highly unlikely that next month’s IFA 2020 fair will be held as a face-to-face event, relegating most of its large participants to creating their own online events. One of the last to confirm has been Motorola, with some small teasers that promise us a presentation for September 9 which, since no other high-end phones have been released currently, point to the arrival of the new Motorola Razr 2020.
And it is that although its success was undeniable, the Motorola Razr did not finish meeting all the expectations it generated, with a design and quality of finishes that undoubtedly managed to be more than up to the task, a low resistance to wear produced by the simple use, and its slight overpricing ended up pigeonholing it more in “An expensive whim” than in a really competitive smartphone at the average user level.
Something that we will see solved with the update and compatibility with 5G networks, thanks to the inclusion of a processor Snapdragon 765 with Snapdragon X52 modem; a small increase in RAM, solving one of the most prominent problems of the current model; as well as the presence of a flexible screen of greater size and resistance, which will be renewed with a 6.7 inch panel.
However, apart from these changes, the rest of the specifications seem to remain the same. And it seems that the company is more focused on presenting an update than a true generational leap for your phone.
Considering that both Samsung and Huawei are preparing cheaper versions of their flexible smartphones, I think Motorola should consider a more reasonable price with the Motorola Razr. That is why, despite the fact that the vast majority still point out that the phone will maintain the same price of $ 1,499 as the current model, rumors about the possible arrival of a lower figure, which would lower the prices, are getting stronger. Motorola Razr 2020 between $ 999 and $ 1,099.
So, we have no choice but to wait until September 9 to see what the future of Motorola is for its folding phone. Although of course, we will most likely also see other announcements and updates to their mid-range models, currently the sector with the largest presence of the company, as well as some entry-level models of the G and E series.
