Will there be an ideal phone for pandemic times? Yes. This is the new CAT S62 Pro with a series of features that make it a more than useful tool for our timesIf you plan to measure the temperature of people up to 50 meters away, walk through the darkness with the help of its thermal camera or even disinfect it constantly with soap and water. Oh and yes, the new CAT S62 Pro is also virtually indestructible.
The CAT S62 Pro is specially made for the construction and architecture industry, but it can be useful for surviving a pandemic. It has a FLIR thermal camera, like its predecessors, that lets you know when a person has a fever. The camera again includes a Lepton sensor, but with a better resolution combined thanks to a Sony sensor that was included in its main camera, which allows it to capture thermal images up to 1440 x 1080. The new sensor also allows you to detect temperature in a Range of -20 to 400 degrees Celsius and can quite accurately measure the temperature of an object located up to 50 meters away.
Perhaps the CAT S62 Pro does not have the best design on the market and is not exactly a thin device, but it is indestructible. They can try to hammer it down without anything happening, as demonstrated during their presentation. Or it can even be thrown from a height of 1.8 meters repeatedly, without anything happening either. The CAT S62 features a steel frame and Gorilla Glass 6 with MIL SPEC 810H military grade certification, and it can be submerged up to a meter and a half for 35 minutes and constantly cleaned with soap and water.
The CAT S62 Pro has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of ROM, in addition to a high-brightness FHD + screen, which works equally well with gloves and wet fingers. Its main camera is 12Mpx while its front camera is 8Mpx.
It will go on sale in September.
