China.- On September 7, the rocket Long March 4B to successfully put a Chinese observation satellite into orbit.
However, images have recently begun to circulate of the moment when the reusable propeller of the rocket falls near a school, forming a huge plume of orange smoke behind its explosion.
The video was recorded in a village near the city China of Gaoyao, province of Shaanxi.
No casualties were reported due to the fall and explosion of the propeller.
According to the Space.com portal, it was the first stage of the rocket Long March 4B that took off from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center in neighboring Shanxi province.
The propellant uses a mixture of toxic hydrazine and dinitrogen tetroxide as fuel. Contact with these substances can have serious health effects.
The causes of the failed landing of the thruster are unknown.
