The Indy 500 keeps its date but there will be no appointment in September

The IndyCar has shared a new schedule for the remainder of the 2020 season that includes cancellations from Portland and Laguna Seca, and double tests for Mid-Ohio, WWTR and the Indianapolis road circuit. The Indy 500 keeps its date.

The month of August will begin with a double race of the Honda Indy 200 from Mid-Ohio on August 8 and 9. Just a week later, the weekend of August 29-30 will host another double round of oval racing at the St. Louis WWTR Circuit in Illinois. At that time, the maximum category of single-seaters in the United States will take a break and there will finally be no race in September, after the cancellations of Portland and Laguna Seca.

In October there will be three races, all routes. The first two will be on October 2 and 3 on the Indiana IMS indoor circuit, with the famous IndyCar GP and finally, a priori, the event will close its 2020 season on the streets of Saint Petersburg on October 25, in the stage where the curtain should originally have been raised to the 2020 season.

The races in Mid-Ohio will allow limited access to the public and remember that the IndyCar announced that they would sell 50% of the tickets for the Indy 500 but have finally had to limit the presence of fans to 25% of the capacity of the IMS, which which will be more than 65,000 people in the stands.
