The world’s first electric crane truck, the “ZTC250N-EV”, developed and produced by Zoomlion, left the production line at Zoomlion Quantang Industrial Park in Changsha, China on May 7.
The 25-ton electric crane truck can reach a maximum speed of 90 kilometers per hour, and its maximum gradability reaches up to 50%. Its complete energy cost can be reduced by up to 35% of the rest of the products powered by fuel in the same class. The sound of the vehicle while driving and operating is not higher than 65dB.
The ZTC250N-EV can provide more than 260 kilometers of range, meeting the requirements of most construction operations. It has standard charging plugs and industrial plugs, which serve to accommodate the charging needs of customers.
“We have partnered with the world’s leading suppliers of green energy parts, targeting crane truck usage scenarios and working conditions. We have equipped crane trucks with the high energy storage density LFP battery, which is the safest worldwide, “said Wang Qitao, technical director of Zoomlion’s crane engineering branch.
“The body and chassis work has implemented a ZIC intelligent collaborative control strategy, which is seamlessly combined with the TCEMS high-efficiency power management system and a BMS battery management system,” he said.
“We established a specialized team in 2018, made up of personnel from the field of research, engineering, manufacturing and quality control, completing the production of the crane truck in two years,” said Wang.
