The European Central Bank (ECB) announced on Thursday that it was once again softening its own funds requirements from the large banks it supervises to preserve financial stability, due to the « exceptional circumstances » related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The council of governors of the ECB decided to temporarily exclude several notifications to the Central Bank in the calculation of the coefficient that measures the risk of banks, alluding that « the situation caused by the coronavirus pandemic affected all the economies of the euro zone in one way profound and unprecedented. «
