The ‘clausulazo’ of Mbappé: Monaco will receive 35 million if they renew or sell it this summer

Kylian Mbappé Is the man of the moment. His spectacular display before Barcelona -with hat trick included- has catapulted him even more as the most desired player in the transfer market, only with the competition of Haaland. The whole world of football is watching their future: Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid, Liverpool… and also him Monaco. The former French club is played 35 million euros depending on the decision the player makes about his future.

According to the French newspaper L’Equipe, PSG has not yet paid for the entire transfer of Kylian Mbappé. An amount of 180 million was agreed by the player, but those of Al-Khelaifi have paid for the moment 145, always according to the information mentioned. In this way, the 35 million that remain to be paid are subject to the future of Mbappé in the Park of the Princes.

As agreed by both parties in the contract, if the player did not renew beyond 2022 -year in which his relationship with the club ends- the PSG I would be exempt from paying those 35 million. It is one of the clauses that was included in a contract in which Paris Saint-Germain was played not to infringe the rules of Financial Fair Play. Therefore, from Monaco they are almost certain that they will receive that amount of money, since it is difficult to imagine that Mbappé exhausts his contract without renewing or being transferred.

For the moment, uncertainty surrounds the future of Kylian Mbappé. Real Madrid is confident that he will not renew his contract with Paris Saint-Germain and this summer his signing will be within reach. The Frenchman will have to decide between Madrid’s project, less economically attractive, and that of the team in which he has been since 2017, as long as he does not accept another offer. Meanwhile, Monaco is awaiting a decision that could come in handy economically.
