One of the most anticipated buttons has reached Twitter, now the chosen users will be able to mark as “I don’t like” responses within the social network.
Jack Dorsey’s social network has been rumors for years about a possible button to indicate that a tweet is not to our liking and it seems that that day has finally arrived. The news has taken all users by surprise, as there was no indication that today’s date was indicated for the arrival of this new functionality.
Twitter made the announcement through its account within the social network, in the publication of the tweet it explains the details and implications of this new button in tests. And, it is that, although it is very similar to that of Facebook, it has limitations of use so as not to generate a toxic environment within the social network.
Some of you on iOS may see different options to up or down vote on replies. We’re testing this to understand the types of replies you find relevant in a convo, so we can work on ways to show more of them. Your downvotes aren’t public, while your upvotes will be shown as likes. pic.twitter.com/hrBfrKQdcY

First of all, there is the software limitation, iOS users are the ones chosen to test the new Twitter feature. Of course, not all. Only some users will have this option within the application and the choice of these people is completely random and does not depend on anything.
The second limitation is in the way this button works. Its appearance will be linked to the interactionthus it will not appear in any tweet. This button will only make an appearance in the replies to tweets and the original author of the first tweet will only be able to click on the “I don’t like it”.
This measure has been integrated so that an environment similar to that found on Facebook is not generated, where anyone can be the victim of a collapse based on “I don’t like it”. Also, the person who receives this tag in their tweet will not be informed of this interaction..
The truth is that at the moment this button “I do not like” does not serve muchIt is nothing more than an unnecessary addition and that does not modify the way of interacting within the social network. This test may not go too far.
