The “Boris Johnson is a fucking bastard” of the Kunts is in the running to be number one for Christmas in the UK.

The Kunts’ song « Boris Johnson Is A Fucking Cunt » has entered the top 20 of the UK singles chart and is now among the contenders for number one this year’s Christmas.

Released earlier this year as part of the cult comedy band’s July album ‘Kunts Punk In Your Face’, the song has already received endorsement from Black Mirror creator Charlie Brooker.

Brooker noted on Sunday (December 20) that ‘Boris Johnson Is A Fucking Cunt’ had risen to number two on the iTunes UK song chart, a likely response from the music-buying public to the last-minute decision by British government to scrap the proposed relaxation of the coronavirus rules over the Christmas period and to implement a new ‘Tier 4’ across London and the South East.

As of 11am today (December 22) the song is in fourth position, with Ed Sheeran’s ‘Afterglow’ in third position, behind two versions of LadBaby’s charity single ‘Don’t Stop Me Eatin’ (the collection of which goes to The Trussell Trust) that occupy the first two positions.

Boris Johnson Is A Fucking Cunt ‘is currently at No.3 on Amazon Music’s current UK Best Selling Songs rankings, while it is at the top of Spotify’s UK’ Viral 50 ‘chart.

While LadBaby (YouTubers Mark and Roxanne Hoyle) is the big favorite to clinch No. 1 Christmas in the UK for the third year in a row, the Official Charts Company’s mid-week update – released yesterday (December 21) – revealed that The Kunts’ « Boris Johnson Is A Fucking Cunt » is currently at No. 19.

The Kunts are priced at 8/1 by a number of bookmakers to take the number one spot on Christmas on Friday (December 25).

The cut-off point for flows and purchases to count for this year’s UK Christmas Singles chart is 11:59 p.m. Thursday (December 24), with the UK Christmas number one Kingdom for 2020 to be announced on BBC Radio 1 starting at 2pm on Christmas Day.

Another contender for the UK’s number one Christmas this year is Liam Gallagher, who released the festive ballad « All You’re Dreaming Of » last week.
