The best cell phones to buy in 2021 if your budget is limited

We put together a short but compelling list of the best cell phones that you could buy at an affordable price in relation to their performance power.

There are times in life when we find ourselves in a complex predicament when it comes to buying a new smartphone: there are too many cell phones, our budget is short and we get lost among brands like Motorola, Xiaomi, Nokia and else.

The vast majority of us would like to have a large high-end terminal with excellent performance in all areas.

But that is sometimes simply impossible for our current financial situation and then we are forced to make a wise purchase. Where we get the best possible for our money.

Thinking just about that scenario, we made this short list with what we believe are the best cell phones to buy this beginning of 2021 if we are looking for something cheap but very efficient.

Motorola Moto G8 Plus

The advantage of new model generations having such defined release schedules is that we can wait for the perfect moment to buy terminals with specifications that are still powerful but that are relegated by the arrival of a new version.

The Moto G8 falls into that parameter. Of all its variables our favorite is the G8 Plus. It has great battery, triple camera, 4GB of RAM and a Snapdragon 665 processor that won’t let you down.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 9

This model arrived in Latin America around July 2020. True to tradition with this brand we are facing a terminal with great technical specifications at an affordable price. Here its specifications:

Screen: Capacitive IPS LCD, 6.53 inches. Displays 16 million colors.
Resolution: 1080 x 2340 (19: 5: 9 ratio)
Operating System: Android 10, MIUI 11
Processor: MediaTek Helio G85.
64 GB internal memory with 3 GB of RAM or 128 GB with 4 GB of RAM. It has a dedicated port for microSDXC cards.
48 MP main camera (wide), with a secondary 8 MP (ultrawide), a third 2 MP (macro) and a 2 MP depth sensor.
The front camera for selfies is 13 MP (standard).
It allows you to record video up to 1080p at 30 frames per second with the main camera and is exactly the same for the selfie camera.
It has a 3.5 mm headphone port, NFC, fingerprint reader and Bluetooth.
5020 mAh Li-Po battery and 18 W fast charge, plus 9 W reverse charge.

But the best of all is its price, which, like the other models on this list, is around the equivalent between USD $ 300 and USD $ 350.

Nokia 5.3

We will be honest. The glory days for Nokia may be long gone. But the truth is that they continue to make powerful cell phones with an attractive price and admirable cameras. As a sample we have the specifications of the Nokia 5.3 that are pure temptation as a whole:

6.55 inch screen
Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 processor
64 GB of storage expandable via microSD
Quad camera, 13 MP main + 5 MP ultra wide angle + 2 MP macro + 2 MP depth sensor
8 MP front camera
4000 mAh battery

And all this for a price that equates to about USD $ 282. Which makes it the most accessible model on this list.

Moto G9 Power

If we have a little more budget and want something newer, the Moto G9 Power is an excellent option that just arrived in Latin America a couple of months ago.

The specifications are ideal for those who want to feel the basic experience of using high-end cell phones at an average price:

6.8 ”screen with HD + resolution
Hole in screen for camera
Snapdragon 662 chipset
128GB internal storage with microSD slot
Expandable memory up to 512 GB
Operating system: Android 10
64 MP + 2 MP + 2 MP triple rear camera
16 MP front camera
6000 mAh battery
20W TurboPower fast charging via USB Type-C

As we can see, this model is practically a top smartphone from a few years ago, but with a monumental battery. Its price is around USD $ 310.
