While the next Bat Man movie continues to shoot, a spin-off series also lies among Warner Bros. pending projects. Four months ago, the show was described as a crime drama set in the same universe as The Batman and focused on the the work of the Gotham City Police Department, so it was extremely exciting that as showrunner Terence winter, creator of Boardwalk Empire. Unfortunately, this name is no longer part of the credits for the upcoming crime series.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Terence Winter has given up writing scripts and serving as showrunner for the still-untitled serial spin-off of The Batman. According to media sources, his departure was due to creative differences between the vision proposed by Winter and the intentions of the producers, including Matt Reeves. The search for a new showrunner has begun, and now we can only imagine what the original HBO Max show would have looked like with the veteran New Yorker at the helm.
Winter is a four-time Emmy-winning writer and producer for The Sopranos, an acclaimed mafia series for which he wrote 25 episodes, including the award-winning “Long Parking” (2004) and “Just for Members” (2006). Later he created the series Boardwalk Empire (2010-2014), starring Steve Buscemi and with Martin Scorsese as executive producer. At the same time, the collaboration between Scorsese and Winter resulted in the feature film The Wolf of Wall Street (2013) – which would earn the second an Oscar nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay – and later both personalities co-created the period series Vinyl ( 2016).
In July of this year, Matt reeves described as “an absolute dream” to be able to work with Winter on the spin-off of The Batman, calling him “incredibly talented, who has written so insightfully and powerfully about the worlds of crime and corruption.” Has he replaced as showrunner, yet to be revealed, will he receive similar accolades?
In conjunction with the previous statements, HBO Max – streaming platform that will host the aforementioned show – came to assert that such a project will be part of an expanding universe, and multiplatform, versed in the overcast vigilante and Gotham City.

Terence Winter, meanwhile, will executive produce a new television adaptation of the play. Dial M for Murder, made into a movie in 1954 by Alfred Hitchcock.
