Led by four goals at half-time by Esbjerg, the Metz players were able to recover in the second part of the match to confirm their success of the previous weekend against the Danes.
A week after their success at the Arènes, Messines have confirmed against Esbjerg. But Manu Mayonnade’s players struggled to overcome the catchy Danes, who started the game well with an advantage of up to two goals in the first five minutes. Louise Katharina Burgaard’s teammates (6 goals on 10 shots) then had a strong moment, inflicting a 5-1 to Esbjerg to take four goals in advance. But this strong moment was immediately followed by a weak time and only one goal scored by Messines in the last eleven minutes of the first half.
An offensive breakdown that Mette Tranborg’s teammates (5 goals on 7 shots) were able to take advantage of to score nine goals and reach half-time with a four-length advantage. Remobilized by Manu Mayonnade, the Mosellanes found the floor with a completely different desire and it only took them twelve minutes to get back to the scoreboard. From then on, Méline Nocandy’s teammates (5 goals on 5 shots) were no longer worried and won by three lengths (25-28), a fourth success in six games which allows Metz to rise to third place in Group A.
