Rangers have rejected an offer from Leeds for attacking midfielder Ryan Kent.

The ex-Liverpool man has just started his third season north of the border after spending 2018/19 on loan and making the switch permanent last summer.

Rangers paid an initial £ 6.5m fee for Kent back then and aren’t interested in him returning to England.

“Ryan is a player we admire very much here,” Steven Gerrard said on Friday, confirming an offer for Leeds.

“We went and bought Ryan and showed a lot of faith in him and he’s progressing very, very quickly here.

“He’s in a good place and a player we want to keep hold of.

« But yes we have had contact from Leeds and an opening bid has been really strongly rejected. »

Kent has scored 16 times in 80 Rangers appearances, including two in the opening four games of the current Scottish Premiership season.
