Feb 23 (.) – Pep Guardiola has instilled a winning mentality in Manchester City and never lets players rest on their laurels, winger Raheem Sterling said.
Guardiola has led City to two Premier League titles since arriving in 2016 and has a good chance of landing another, as they are 10 points clear at the top of the table.
“That winning mentality,” Sterling told the City website https://www.mancity.com/news/mens/raheem-sterling-on-pep-guardiola-teachings-63749612 when asked about the impact of Spanish.
“That’s what I’ve learned the most from him, and not being happy with what you’ve done. Keep working, keep improving and try to win more and more.”
City have won 18 straight games in all competitions, but Sterling said they need to be careful about complacency.
“We are not going to rush and we know we still have a long season left,” he said. “We will stay focused, first on the Champions League game this week, and then on the Premier game.”
“We are in control of our own destiny.”
City face Borussia Moenchengladbach in the first leg of the Champions League round of 16 in Budapest on Wednesday before hosting West Ham United in the Premier League on Saturday.
