Pittsburgh Steelers, of the National Football League (NFL), used the fifth year option stipulated in linebacker Bud Dupree’s rookie contract, to remain in the franchise until the 2019 season.

According to information on the official website of the League, Steelers will validate the option for Dupree and will cost them $ 9.2 million within the salary cap, since they expect the linebacker to demonstrate the potential that he has not achieved since his arrival at the team in the Draft 2015.

The previous season, the 25-year-old linebacker accumulated six passer catches, to establish a personal mark, and 40 tackles; however, he was placed 44th out of 46 possible among all the players who perform in the same position.

During this NFL offseason, Steelers still has to settle the contract matter of star running back Le’Veon Bell, who may not contest the following season if he continues to be labeled a franchise player.
