We really want to play an online game, but the PS5 does not connect to Wifi Is there a solution? Do not worry about finding the solution, it is not complicated at all and we are going to see step by step all the methods that we have to be able to find the solution to this annoying problem.
Verify the PlayStation network
In some cases it may be that the problem is not really ours. If not that from the same Sony PSN servers they have some other problem or are in maintenance. This is a rare thing to happen, although it can happen. What can we do? Wait and check if the problem really originated from the PSN server, just to be safe.
We enter the PlayStation Network site where we can verify if the servers are active. From this section we can confirm if the Sony servers are working properly.
In case the site does not load you, then verify that you can surf the internet without problems by visiting other websites.
Check that my PS5 is connected to Wifi
If the Sony PSN servers work correctly and the PS5 does not connect to Wifi, then we will have to verify that our console is connected to the internet. For this we are simply going to follow the steps that we will leave you below:
The first thing we will do will be on the main screen of PS5, look for the option “Settings” that is in the upper right corner of the screen, it is the gear-shaped icon.
In the menu that opens we will have to select the “Network” option to access the network settings. Next, we are going to click on the option “Test internet connection” that is under everything and wait for the test to be completed.
In case the test fails, we will have to reconnect to the Wi-Fi network from Settings> Configure Internet connection.
Sometimes everything seems to work: the Sony PSN servers, the router, the internet, the PlayStation 5 and you can still have connection problems. How do we solve it? Restart the router and the PlayStation 5. It seems like a simple solution, but it works many times. Especially if the PS5 has been idle for too long, so ideally you should turn off the PS5 and the router for a few minutes.
How to change DNS on PlayStation 5
If the internet works, then you can try changing the DNS of the connection. This is something that works quite well on Windows too.
What we will do is enter “Configuration”. Then we are going to select “Network”. Now we are going to “Configuration” again. We press “Configure internet connection”. Now look for the network you want to connect to and select it.
Click on “Advanced Configuration” of said network. Then we go to “DNS Configuration” To the right of “DNS Configuration” appears “Automatic” we will have to select “Manual” by pressing on this option the menu with the section What are we looking for.
Now we are going to use the Google DNS, the first is: 188.8.131.52; while the secondary is: 184.108.40.206; Google’s DNS works great and is quite fast.
