FC Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-André Ter Stegen has acknowledged that, beyond avoiding goals against, he is “very happy” to see that several goals from the team begin with his ball out, a “solution” to cancel the pressure of the rival that sometimes has its fruit.
“When I look, in all these seasons, how many goals start with the well-organized ball output from behind (with him), it makes me very happy,” he told Barça TV +.
In this sense, it celebrates providing “solutions” to the exit of the game. “I see that I can provide solutions to the team, and that’s where I want to be, helping the team by giving freedom of movement and making it difficult for the rival to pressure us,” he commented.
This contribution is one of the things in which he has improved, and in which he wants to continue improving. “We all want to reach our maximum potential and always improve. And this is what I have tried every year, there is always something you can do better,” he acknowledged.
Thus, he celebrated being able to work with goalkeeping coach José Ramón de la Fuente, with whom he gets along very well. “We make a good team with José Ramón De la Fuente, we have analyzed things in which he believed he could improve and we have made changes,” he said.
“In addition, football is changing and you must find new solutions to problems. We have a good relationship with José Ramón, which makes it easy to work together. We are honest in the analytical part, so that it can be better every time,” he reiterated .
On the other hand, on the more personal side, he commented on how he takes the issue of fatherhood. “I think being parents is exhausting, but at the same time very nice when you can spend time with your children. I am very proud, when he gives me a hug, for example, it is beautiful. It drives me crazy, completely,” he said.
