Ever Banega, Franco Vázquez, Luuk de Jong and Lucas Ocampos met to make a barbecue with their partners and friends, breaking the opinion of the Spanish authorities that regulate concentrations to a maximum of 10 people. They risk harsh club and legal penalties.

In Spain, the health situation has been improving day by day on a sustained basis. This is why the government has begun to make prevention and social distancing measures more flexible, allowing people to gather in groups of, at most, 10 people. But this opinion was not respected by some Sevilla players, who exceeded this number.

During the day on Saturday, Éver Banega’s wife shared some photos on her Instagram account, which she later deleted. In them you could see a total of 12 people, among whom were the Argentine player, in addition to his colleagues Lucas Ocampos, Luuk de Jong and Franco Vázquez, according to Diario Marca.

The action received widespread repudiation from Spanish football, forcing the players to go out and clarify the situation. “I want to apologize for what happened yesterday. It was a family and companions meeting, but unconsciously we were not correct. For this reason I want to apologize to our club, our fans and society in general. It will not be repeated. We just want to play again as soon as possible ”, shared Banega through his social networks.

The situation could expose the four footballers to harsh financial penalties from their club, in addition to other legal problems in Spain. In addition, it calls into question the protocols that La Liga hoped to apply, progressively, to ensure the return of football in that country.
