SEGA owns several franchises that are not only popular in Japan, but there are also several that have a good presence in the West. One of them is Yakuza, which in recent years has increased its scope and SEGA could be preparing more surprises related to the series and its future.

The Yakuza franchise debuted on December 8, 2005, so it will soon be celebrating its 15th anniversary and the developer in charge of the series, Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio, has already announced (via DualShockers) that it will carry out a commemorative broadcast that no fan of the series will want to miss out.

In case you missed it: a Yakuza producer would like to work on a Sonic game.

Soon we will know about the future of Yakuza

The Japanese company announced that in this event there will be several special guests who have played an important part in the various titles of the series. Although he did not specify who he is referring to, the broadcast could well be present both SEGA creatives and voice actors.

However, what excites fans the most is that SEGA also confirmed that there will be announcements about “future developments of the series”. It may seem unlikely to many that Ryu Ga Gotoku will soon release a new game, since the latest installment, Yakuza: Like a Dragon, debuted in early 2020 in Japan and has just arrived in the West. However, it would not be surprising that SEGA is already developing the next iteration of the series to celebrate its 15 years in the market.

This event is scheduled for next Tuesday, December 8 and if you don’t want to miss it, you will have to tune into Ryu Ga Gotoku’s YouTube channel. Here we will inform you of what is announced.

What do you expect from this transmission? Will you tune in? Tell us in the comments.

Since we are talking about Yakuza, we inform you that on the occasion of the company’s 60th anniversary, a game from the beat ’em up style series starring the characters of the franchise was released on PC on a limited basis.
