The new Galaxy S21 family has not arrived alone. The South Korean brand has also presented the Galaxy Buds Pro, a wireless headphones with active noise cancellation that are positioned in the same market segment as the well-known Apple AirPods Pro.
The Buds Pro They are not Samsung’s first headphones with a noise cancellation system. That award belongs to the Buds Live, presented last year. However, these are the first to combine the physical isolation of in-ear headphones with a software noise cancellation system.
According to Samsung, The Galaxy Buds Pro are capable of reducing background noise up to 99% thanks to its cancellation algorithms and its three microphones. The user can also choose between a more aggressive noise cancellation or, on the contrary, opt for a softer one.
With Ambient Sound mode active, Galaxy Buds Pro allow outside sounds to reach the ear – and it can even amplify them, if we want to – without having to remove the headphones. This mode is especially useful, for example, when we have to briefly chat with another person.
This Ambient Sound mode, which resembles the transparency mode of AirPods Pro, can be activated from the application. However, the Galaxy Buds Pro are able to automatically turn on this mode automatically when we start talking – as do the Sony WH-1000XM4-.
The Galaxy Buds Pro also have Audio 360
When it comes to sound, The Galaxy Buds Pro feature an 11-millimeter woofer and a 6.5-millimeter tweeter. In addition, Samsung has implemented the Audio 360 function with Dolby Head Tracking technology. This surround audio system will enhance the experience when we enjoy adapted content such as series or movies.
The Galaxy Buds Pro promise up to 8 hours of uninterrupted use on a single charge. A figure that can be extended by an additional 20 hours if the charging case is used. With active noise cancellation, these figures are obviously reduced. In that case, Samsung estimates that the Buds Pro can offer up to 5 hours of playback and an additional 13 hours using the case.
Samsung’s new headphones too they are waterproof (IPX7 certified) and seamlessly integrate into the Galaxy ecosystem. For example: if, while using a Galaxy Tab S7, you receive a call on a Galaxy S21, the headphones will automatically switch to the latter in order to answer the call without problems.
When they will be available?
The Galaxy Buds Pro will be available in three different colors: Phantom Black (black), Phantom Silver (silver) and Phantom Violet (purple). Its price will be 229 euros and will be available from January 29.
