RB Leipzig continued to make history in the Champions League and qualified for the semifinals after beating Atlético de Madrid 2-1 in the final stretch of the game, this Thursday in their quarter-final duel in Lisbon.

The Spanish Dani Olmo advanced in 50 to Leipzig, the Portuguese Joao Félix equalized in the 71 for Atlético from a penalty and in 88 the American Tyler Adams signed the sentence in favor of the Germans.

Leipzig, which is playing in the Champions League for the second season in its history, will meet on Tuesday next week for a ticket to the final against Paris Saint-Germain, who on Wednesday achieved a comeback in the final discount to win 2-1 Atalanta, in the match that opened the ‘Final 8’ in the Portuguese capital.

The third classified in the last Bundesliga had already eliminated English Tottenham, runner-up in this tournament last year in the round of 16.

Now Atlético, runner-up in Europe, is claimed as a victim for two times recently (2014, 2016).

The ‘colchonero’ team, also third in their last national league, will have to be waiting to achieve their long-awaited first title of European champion, in a season in which expectations had skyrocketed after having eliminated Liverpool, the current one in the round of 16 champion.
