Qualcomm puts its eye on wearables | News | Connectivity

Qualcomm has announced the investment in a new program to develop the wearables ecosystem, with the participation of more than 60 leaders in the wearables sector, such as Arm, Fossil, Oppo, Verizon and Vodafone, among others.

This announcement is part of a long-term strategy the company will establish for the wearables space. In the last five years it has commercialized more than 40 million units in more than 100 countries, has collaborated with more than 75 device manufacturers and more than 25 service providers in the sale of more than 250 portable products, that is, one new product, on average, per week.

The objective of this program is accelerate adoption of wearables and reduce development time by creating collaborative relationships throughout the wearables value chain. Qualcomm is helping ecosystem members optimize their solutions using the Snapdragon Wear platform so manufacturers can quickly adapt innovations to their products and bring them to market.
