PS5 : Apex Legends: Respawn accused of plagiarizing a BulletVille character

Sony Playstation 5 :

Respawn Entertainment announced this week that the next February 2nd start the eighth season and that with it a new character will arrive, Fuse, whom we can control to win victory through his unique abilities.

The accusation

However, NOWWA, the indie developer behind BulletVille, a multiplayer action game that enjoyed an alpha between October and November last year, is not very happy with the design of this new hero, as they claim that it is a plagiarism of Hunter, one of the characters they created for their own game and whose design was shown publicly a couple of years ago. Although they are not exactly the same, NOWWA accuses Respawn Entertainment If there are too many similarities in their looks and even abilities, they can both use a rocket launcher.

“We are delighted that the Apex Legends team liked Hunter’s style to the point that they wanted to recreate him in Apex Legends, so we are hoping there will be a crossover at some point,” the studio said in a statement. “However, We fear that being a small independent production company whose game has not been released yet, they will say that we have plagiarized Apex Legends, and that is not true“For now, Electronic Arts has declined to comment.
