Niantic had already anticipated that in December there would be a lot of news in Pokémon GO thanks to the GO Beyond update. There is very little left for players to start discovering new Pokémon from Kalos and to excite fans even more, today the developer detailed everything that players will be able to find in the first season of Pokémon GO.

As we mentioned a few weeks ago, Niantic revealed that the seasons would come to Pokémon GO, which will allow the title to have one more layer of immersion, since trainers will be able to capture Pokémon according to the season in which they live.

In a few hours the first season will start, the Season of Celebration, which will be available from December 1, 2020 and will end on March 1 of next year and will act as the winter season in the northern hemisphere and the summer season. in the southern hemisphere. This season will be characterized by celebratory events from the Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, Unova and Kalos regions. During this period the Pokémon that will appear will be more varied.

In case you missed it: Niantic brought back some measures that it implemented due to the pandemic.

The Pokémon that will appear will be different depending on the hemisphere

Players in the northern region will be able to find Pokémon in the wild such as Alolan Sandshrew, Alola Vulpix, Seel, Lapras, Teddiursa, and the winter form of Deerling, the Seasonal Pokémon, and more will debut in the game. There is good news for players in the southern hemisphere too, as they will find Deerling in its summer version for the first time in the game, as well as creatures related to this season, such as Growlithe, Shuckle, Electrike, Burmy, Darumaka and more.

The Pokémon that will appear from eggs are Growlithe and Wingull (2 km), Baltoy and Ducklett (5 km), Shinx (5 km eggs received from Adventure Sync), and Seel, Aron, and Elgyem will stop hatching.

During December, players will be able to participate in Mega Raids for Charizard, X, Mega Gengar, and Mega Abomasnow (which will debut in the game). Each one will have a period in which it will be stronger and Charizard will have this attack upgrade during the first days of the month. Of course, there will be mega-raids with more Pokémon next year, but they will be revealed later.

December will be full of themed events

The Kalos celebration event will be available from December 2 to December 8 and during this period creatures from this region will appear in the wild, eggs and Raids, such as Espurr, which is the Pokémon that is appearing in Raids of 1 star and that attracted a lot of attention last weekend.

December will also be very special because there will be a double Community Day, where players will be able to meet Pokémon that were available on all Community Days this year. These events will be held on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 December.

More winter and party events are expected to come soon. We leave you with the official art of Pokémon GO for winter 2019-2020, which was provided by the artist Jason Marino (via ArtStation).
